Asian Games reducing number of events to save money |
The upcoming inaugural Asian Martial Arts Games will also be the last one following a decision by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) to merge the event with the Asian Indoor Games.
The council's general assembly concluded at their meeting in Singapore on Friday with a decision to reshuffle the dates of various multi-event games.
The decisions were agreed by around 45 national Olympic committees across the region to help cut costs.
Sport committees around the world have been cutting down expenses due to the current global economic crisis.
