FIBA announces candidates to host the 2010 FIBA U17 World Championships
The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced that the following national federations have sent to the FIBA Secretariat, before the given deadline, their official candidature for the organization of the first edition of the 12-team FIBA U17 World Championship for Men and Women that will be played in July 2010.

• 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship for Men (six candidates):
China, France, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan and Morocco

• 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship for Women (three candidates):
Chile, France and Kazakhstan
