Sky Sports has signed a new eight-year deal with the PGA Tour to broadcast tournaments live and in high definition in the UK. The contract is one of the longest broadcast agreements ever awarded by the PGA Tour.
The deal gives Sky the rights to televise events throughout the regular US Tour season, as well as all four FedEX Cup tournaments and the Presidents Cup in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017.
Managing director of Sky Sports Barney Francis said: “This is great news for our viewers and for golf. We can promise quality events, with some of the biggest names in golf, right through the calendar and even more HD coverage.
“It is fascinating to be able to follow players from the US Tour alongside our European coverage, particularly in a Ryder Cup year. And it’s a great time to be back covering the US Tour, too, with Rory McIlroy committing himself to events from the US calendar.”
