Russia creates new Deputy Minister role to oversee Sochi 2014 preparations |
Sochi 2014, the organizers of Russia’s first Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, welcomed the creation of a new role within the Government of the Russian Federation, solely focused on Olympic preparations and governance. The position was assigned to Dmitry Kozak, the Minister for Regional Development of the Russian Federation.
Russia's President, Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, agreed to create an eighth Deputy Prime Minister, whose duties will concentrate exclusively on the 2014 Winter Games.
