Exclusively postgraduate, Cranfield University is one of Europe's leading academic institutions, world-renowned for its teaching and research, especially in relation to sports surface technologies.
Our unique, modular MSc in Sports Surface Technology develops technical and managerial expertise for the sector. Students on the programme develop expertise to create, maintain and manage world class sports surfaces. The programme is available part-time for those working in the sector, or full-time for those looking to embark on a career in sports surface technology. In addition we offer specialist training in the form of short courses and bespoke packages for clients.
Cranfield also offers a multidisciplinary approach to research for the sports turf sector. We are able to support sports turf managers in addressing the challenges that they face in developing and maintaining facilities. We have a close working relationship with key organisations and personnel, embracing all aspects of the industry including manufacturers of machinery, irrigation and drainage contractors, designers, ground staff and facility managers. Our work in the sports surfaces' field has the official endorsement of the Institute of Groundsmanship.
