EXECUTIVE MANAGER
Salary €40,000 - €48,000 (depending on experience & qualifications
plus bonus scheme subject to Terms and Conditions)

Reporting to:
Line Manager - the President (and in turn the Executive Committee)

This strategic post is a critical component in the delivery of the Federation of Irish Sports Strategic Plan 2006 - 2009. The post holder will be a self-driven individual with a third level qualification in a business / sport related subject and ideally have a minimum of three years full time career experience in a senior management position. The postholder will be required to develop and manage the implementation of the Federation’ Strategic Plan, including financial management, to ensure that the Federation complies with best practice and corporate governance.

Job Purpose:
Duties will focus on the delivery of the strategic plan, business development of the Federation of Irish Sports, increasing its value to members and responding to the collective needs of the membership.

To achieve the above the post holder will be expected to undertake the following duties:

1. To implement the Federation’s Strategic Plan 2006 - 2009.

2. To generate sufficient funding to enable the Federation to deliver the Strategic Plan.

3. To increase efficiency of the organisation through improved financial planning and effective use of resources.

4. To continue the development of communication channels with members and other organisations, including the ongoing management of website and ezine.

5. Represent the Federation on relevant organisations and groups.

6. To respond on behalf of the voluntary sport sector in Ireland, to consultation processes regarding legislation, policies and strategies which will impact sport in Ireland.

7. To work strategically, collaboratively and in partnership with other agencies to ascertain the training and development needs of the voluntary sport sector in Ireland and to assist in addressing these through an annual programme of meetings, training and education opportunities.

8. To work in partnership, and develop strategic alliance with, relevant organisations in Ireland, the UK and Northern Ireland in order to further develop voluntary sport.

9. To undertake any other relevant and related duties as may be reasonably required from time to time by the Federation’s Executive Committee.
