Women’s Artistic National Youth Coach
(Performance Development)
Full-Time, Initial Three Year Fixed-Term Contract
Salary commensurate with experience.
An exciting and immediate opportunity has arisen to join the team at Scottish Gymnastics. Scottish. Gymnastics is the National Governing Body for Gymnastics in Scotland and we are seeking to recruit a full-time Women’s Artistic National Youth Coach (Performance Development).
About the Job:
• The WA National Youth Coach will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the Scottish Gymnastics WA National Squad Programme and establishing and developing a new National Youth Squad structure in conjunction with the WA Performance Director.
• The WA National Youth Coach will be required to design and develop specific gymnastics plans for national squad gymnasts and will be a national selector and involved in the selection process of gymnasts in national and international competitions.
• The WA National Youth Coach will be a member of the WA Technical Panel and SGA High Performance Advisory Panel.
• The WA National Youth Coach will provide ongoing programme reports to the SGA Board and the SGA Coaching and Development Director.
The successful candidate will:
• Hold an FIG Coaching Brevet (Level 3) or British Gymnastics IPC Coaching Qualification
• Have previous experience of coaching gymnastics at elite national or international level with a successful track record
• Demonstrate an ability to develop and implement a national performance development programme for developmental and elite gymnasts
• Have experience of coaching children and young people, with an understanding of gymnastic progression pathways
• Have the ability to work with, assist, support and motivate other members of the coaching team in order to develop good practice throughout the WA National and Regional Programme
• Be an energetic, enthusiastic and highly motivated coach
• Have strong organisational and interpersonal skills
• Be willing and available to work weekends and extended hours as required
