The International Cricket Council is the global governing body for the Sport and part of our mission is to optimize commercial opportunities for the benefit of the game. The ICC has entered into commercial arrangements for media rights and is entering commercial arrangements for sponsorship, for events after the 2007 World Cup. With this in mind we are looking for a Commercial Lawyer to provide legal advice and assistance on all ICC projects. The role will be based in Dubai,
The person will be required to:
• Providing expert legal advice on the ICC’s commercial projects and the staging of ICC events
• Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts (including sponsorship and broadcast agreements) as well as those relating to the staging of events
• Liaising with the Brand Manager on issues involving the protection of ICC’s intellectual property
• Generally assisting the Chief Executive on a broad range of legal matters including those relating to ICC’s licensees
The person will need to have the following:
• Qualified in (or knowledge of) English law with minimum 4 years post qualification experience in the commercial department of a major law firm or in-house
• General understanding of sponsorship, broadcasting and licensing issues and, ideally, of international tax issues
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Motivated and enthusiastic attitude
• Good team player with a flexible approach
