Location: Washington, DC
The Grants Manager will report to the Vice President of Finance. Duties include accounting, reporting analysis and compliance for a $6M grant portfolio. Federal donors include the Department of Health and Human Services and State Department.
Description:
• Grant Accounting, Cash-Flow Management & Reporting
• Responsible for data integrity and accuracy for the grant portfolio
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual grant revenue and spending reports including SF269, SF272 and other necessary reporting in support of government and other donor requirements as necessary
• Trains and directs the work of field office accounting staff where applicable
• Meets regularly with program staff to resolve financial and budgeting issues concerning their programs
• Responsible for all grants-related cash management activities, including timely grant draw downs
• Review financial reports for accuracy and completeness
• Budgeting & Analyses
• Prepare periodic financial and ad-hoc reports of project expenditures vs. budget projections for distribution and review by program, management and accounting staff
• Prepare budget forecasts and grant pipeline analyses; develop financial tracking tools and monitor expenditure trends to minimize cost overruns
• Review budget proposals and/or cost proposals before submission to grantor/funding agency
• Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget and other strategic reporting compliance
• Review grant financial reports and supporting documentation to ensure compliance between project budgets and program activities
• Review the ongoing administration of grants to assure compliance; work with program staff in reviewing and monitoring existing grants
• Work with accounting staff through the A-133 audit requirements
Qualifications Required:
• BS degree with 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in grants management; strong working knowledge of Federal award guidelines including OMB A-110, and A-133
• Must have working knowledge of accounting and strong analytical skills needed for reviewing reports, compiling data for reports, and maintaining accounts in compliance with funding guidelines
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Great Plains accounting system a plus
