| Description |
UK Athletics (UKA) is seeking to fill a position on the Anti Doping Policy and Support Team (PST). This unpaid honorary appointment (covering a four-year period) is part of a rolling plan for positions on the Anti Doping PST. We are seeking to further compliment the team with this new post for a team member with a coaching background.
The mission statement of the Anti Doping PST is “the implementation of policies that educate and inform athletes and coaches about doping issues”. It will maintain the integrity of the sport, ensure fairness for athletes and promote a sound public image.
UK Athletics considers the PST vital for the development of the anti doping programme in the UK. Meetings take place 3-4 times a year, usually at our Head Office in Solihull, and the overall role of the Policy and Support Team is:
• To provide a forum for open debate on Anti Doping strategy
• To support the UKA Anti Doping team by making available a pool of people with expertise in a range of fields relevant to anti doping
• To generate solutions to anti doping problems and issues
• To provide a resource for the establishment of working groups to tackle specific issues
• To act as a “sounding board” to oversee and comment on anti doping policy and procedures
• To work for the promotion of Drug Free Sport in general and the UKA programme specifically
Candidates for this honorary appointment should ideally not already be working for UK Athletics and will have the following background and experience:
• 4 years or more coaching in sport
• An awareness and interest in current anti doping procedures and issues
If you feel you have the necessary qualities and experience to successfully carry out this role, please contact the HR Team (quoting ref: UKA076) at UK Athletics, Athletics House, Central Boulevard, Blythe Valley Park, Solihull, West Midlands B90 8AJ, Tel: 0870 998 6767. Alternatively you can request an application pack to be sent to you by e-mailing recruitment@ukathletics.org.uk or downloading a form from our website www.ukathletics.net under the ‘About Us’ section.
The closing date for applications for this honorary post is 9 November 2007. Interviews will take place at Head Office on 22 November 2007.
UK Athletics is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, or religion or belief.
