The Manchester 50 Pool Trust is a limited company by guarantee and a registered charity. The Trust was developed by Manchester City Council and is now the organisation with the responsibility for the management and operation of the Manchester Aquatic centre and the 10 Community Leisure facilities across the city.
The Trust is arguably one of the most progressive in the country with facilities that are truly world class. The legacy left after the Commonwealth Games in 2002 mean the city lives and breathes sport and a CEO with the same passion is now needed to drive The Trust forward.
The Chief Executive position will be the critical link between The Trust and Manchester City Council and will also drive the commercial aspirations of the Sportcity facilities. Candidates should have experience in a senior sport, leisure or related management position within the not for profit sector. This should be coupled with a proven record of achievement within the public sector at a senior level, and therefore have an awareness of the challenges and issues that go with a role of this level. In addition, strong experience within a sports related organisation where commercial and partnership skills can be demonstrated would be distinct advantage.
Experience of all candidates should include:
· Experience of managing high-level strategic partnerships
· Marketing and promoting a leisure or sports related venue, club or association
· Proven track record of managing change
· Ability to demonstrate a through knowledge of financial management including budget preparation, monitoring and financial control
