| Description |
The Donor Database Manager serves as professional and technical resource to internal and field staff, vendors and consultants for fully integrated donor data management systems that support direct response fundraising and other donor contact programs and services. Works closely with the Director, Direct Response Marketing to ensure that all donor data management systems and resources meet organizational needs, function efficiently and effectively and support the organization's mission, goals and objectives. S/he manages the contractual relationships for lockbox and cashiering operations for the direct response fundraising program to ensure accurate processing, data entry, etc. of more than one million gifts annually. S/he works closely with Direct Response and Finance staff to reconcile caging deposit reports with bank records and database reporting. S/he oversees the security and integrity of donor information and serves as administrator for all systems coding structures -- source codes, flags, classifications and other codes. S/he manages quality controls to guarantee that all transactional and relationship data is accurately posted to the database system to achieve efficient output and reliable reports and analyses. S/he serves as point of contact for file overlay services. S/he is a primary interface with US Programs for database needs and conducts queries and file pulls on their behalf, ensuring that Program needs are met while maintaining the integrity of the database and the Centralized Direct Mail Program. S/he is the key liaison for database training needs and maintains procedures documents and user guides as ongoing resources for system users. This position requires an understanding of direct response fundraising and technology trends.
Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years experience in not for profit database management and/or fundraising with a donor/customer focus.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and translate into strategy and quantitative measurement.
• Ability to discuss technical issues in understandable terms.
• Successful experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with relational databases, preferably Team Approach, and constituent-centric strategies and processes
• Ability to interact and collaborate successfully with people at various levels of the organization and within Program staff
• Understanding of/experience with direct response marketing strategies and tactics
• Strong attention to detail and timelines
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
