Community Rugby Coach
CRAVEN & BRADFORD
Full time, 12 month contract
Salary: c. £18,000 plus benefits and expenses
The Rugby Football Union is looking to appoint a Community Rugby Coach to work throughout Craven & Bradford.
Key Responsibilities will be:
To organise and implement programmes to encourage young people and adults to play rugby across West Yorkshire, particularly in the Craven & Bradford.
To support target clubs on their adult recruitment and retention through the Go Play Rugby initiative.
To develop school and club links throughout the county, particularly in the targeted areas.
To develop programmes to encourage 16 to 24 year olds to sustain their participation in rugby.
To introduce leadership skills to young people and provide ongoing support and sustainability by delivering teacher and coach education.
To take a professional approach in the planning, preparation and organisation of coaching sessions.
To maintain a comprehensive schedule of coaching as established and administered by the local Rugby Development Officer.
Qualifications required are:
Must be educated to a minimum of 'GCSE' standard preferably with at least five GCSEs at grade C or above.
Will have experience of coaching children and young people.
Should hold an RFU coaching qualification (minimum level 1 / preferred Level 2); current driving licence and own transport.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Ideally the successful candidate should have a good knowledge and understanding of the game and the operation of junior & senior rugby. They should be keen to develop a career in the sports/leisure industry.
