Senior Officer
National Governing Body Services
£26,417 - £34,558* (includes 20% allowance for unsocial hours)
The Sports Council for Wales is the national organisation responsible for developing and promoting sport and physical activity in Wales supporting the Welsh Assembly Government’s vision document ‘Climbing Higher’.
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to support Welsh national governing bodies in developing their sport, by providing support and advice in management and finance. Key responsibilities will include contributing to the formulation, implementation and monitoring of policies, and the operation of grant aid schemes.
Clearly, this is rewarding work in which you will be able to exercise your wide-ranging experience of working in sport development and dealing with grant applications.
Success demands experience in a similar role and an efficient, methodical and organised approach to your work. In addition you must be able demonstrate confidence with people, effective communication skills and the ability to work productively without supervision.
Unsocial hours and travel will be regular features of the role, so you need to be flexible, with a driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
The post is based at the Welsh Institute of Sport, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.
Benefits include final salary pension scheme, free use of facilities, subsidised restaurant and on-site parking.
*Please note that appointment will normally be made at the scale minimum.
