British Swimming is the National Governing Body for Swimming and its associated disciplines in Great Britain with its headquarters situated in the centre of Loughborough.
Following London’s successful bid for the 2012 Olympics, UK Sport has been working hard to secure the financial support and foundations upon which all UK Performance Sports can build in the run up to 2012 and beyond. There has never been a more exciting time to be involved in sport! All of this represents an opportunity for elite sport in the UK to step up a gear and transform to compete with the best in the world.
British Swimming is unique in now having 5 funded programmes to manage for elite athletes – swimming, diving, water polo, synchronised swimming and disabled swimming. There is an opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to be at the heart of the financial management of these programmes. Working directly for the Director of World Class Operations the role calls for a pro-active, customer-focused accountant with strong interpersonal, financial control and report writing skills to deliver a quality financial management service. Whilst not essential an, affinity for performance sport and swimming will certainly help.
The role will be based in Loughborough on a 35 hour a week basis but may involve occasional travel. The salary range will be £25-£35k depending on qualifications and experience. Both British Swimming and ASA encourage flexible working and are willing to consider all applications from candidates with relevant experience and aptitude for the role.
British Swimming is an equal opportunity employer and has a non smoking policy.
The closing date for this post is: Friday 19 May 2006.
