The Fédération Internationale de Hockey (FIH), founded in 1924, is the international body governing
hockey, men and women, recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It comprises 127
affiliated National Associations.
The FIH works in co-operation with both the national and continental organisations to ensure consistency and unity in hockey around the world. It not only regulates the sport, but is also responsible for its development and promotion so as to guarantee a secure future for hockey.
The FIH mission is to encourage, promote, develop and administer hockey at all levels to maintain
hockey as an Olympic sport on the Olympic programme and maximise participation, standards,
enjoyment and community involvement. |
