Lancashire County Cricket Club was founded in 1864 and has been based at the historic and picturesque Old Trafford ground ever since.
The cricket clbu is one of the highest-profile and most successful counties in English cricket, and the ground has been hosting International matches since 1884. The England team will visit the ground twice in 2010 as they play Bangladesh in a Test match and old rivals Australia in a ONe-day International.
Alongside cricket, Old Trafford is becoming one of the most desirable multi-purpose venues in the country. The on-site Suites provide the location for a thriving conference and events facility within the Club which caters for social and business gatherings of varying sizes. Summer 2010 will see the opening of The Point, a state-of-the-art suite capable of seating 1000 people, which overlooks the famous Old Trafford pitch. |
