The World Masters Games, governed by the International Masters Games Association (IMGA), is the largest participatory multi-sport competition in the world. Motivating a goal-oriented and long-term attitude towards sport, physical fitness and health, the Games bring together up to 30,000 men and women aged 25 and above, from over 100 countries, for the simple joy of competing with their peers.
The 2009 World Masters Games will be held in Sydney, Australia from 10-18 October 2009. The Sydney 2009 World Masters Games will provide participants with the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Olympians, as many of the venues constructed for the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be utilised.
