Company Description
FIBA Europe is the governing body for basketball in Europe, one of 5 Zones of FIBA (along with Africa, Americas, Oceania and Asia). As the governing body, FIBA Europe is responsible for controlling and developing the sport of basketball in Europe. FIBA Europe consists of 51 member federations and is responsible for organizing European Championships and club competitions at all levels in the sport of basketball for both men and women.

Description

The candidate will work in the Communications Department of FIBA Europe. He or she will be responsible for a majority of the written content (in English) that appears both on the FIBA Europe website and for distribution via Press Release or print materials.

The candidate will preferably be a native speaker of English and able to write clearly and knowledgably about the sport of basketball. Fluency in other European languages is a plus, but not a requirement.

This position does require heavy travel (especially in summer months) and is based in Munich, Germany.

Responsibilities

Writing Press Releases

Weekly contact with website content provider

Recruitment and assignment of contributors (journalists, photographers, videographers)

Editing and uploading of stories to Fibaeurope.com

Supervising the production of FIBA Europe print publications such as the FIBA Europe Youth Yearbook and event related media guides

Supervise and edit event-specific microsites

Work nightshifts during club competitions

Respond to inquiries from media and fans

Daily press clippings

Assist in maintenance of media database

Assist in management of media accreditation for FIBA Europe events

Provide media operations services on location at FIBA Europe events
