PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To oversee and monitor – together with the Public Transport and Airport Managers of the Polish and Ukrainian local organising committees (LOCs) – all matters related to UEFA EURO 2012 public transport and airport management, and to ensure that the tournament needs are integrated into the traffic and mobility concepts of the public authorities and the operational plans of the airports.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
• Establishing a UEFA strategy for public transport and airport management and overseeing all activities related to public transport, traffic management, airport management and related traffic signage
• Establishing, together with the Public Transport and Airport Managers of the Polish and Ukrainian LOCs, UEFA and the LOCs’ public transport and airport management concepts and project plans
• Monitoring road, railway and airport construction and developments and liaising – together with the Public Transport and Airport Managers of the Polish and Ukrainian LOCs – with the relevant authorities to ensure that the transport and airport infrastructure meets the tournament needs
• Defining, together with the Public Transport and Airport Managers of the Polish and Ukrainian LOCs, the tournament requirements in terms of public transport, traffic management, airport management and related traffic signage, and ensuring that these requirements are integrated into the relevant concepts and operational plans of the public authorities.
• Representing UEFA and defending its interests – together with the Public Transport and Airport Managers of the Polish and Ukrainian LOCs – at national, regional and local level with regard to public transport and airport management, as well as liaising with all transport and airport authorities
• Coordinating UEFA’s role in the implementation and successful running of public transport, traffic management, traffic signage, park and ride systems and supporters’ parking in close collaboration with the venue management and event transport teams and all relevant external parties
• Monitoring UEFA’s operations at each tournament airport and ensuring consistency in service delivery
• Liaising with the airport authorities to ensure that each airport adopts the UEFA host city dressing concept and that commercial advertising space is available for UEFA’s official tournament sponsors
• Communicating public transport and airport information to all relevant parties
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Overseeing the UEFA EURO 2012 public transport and airport management projects and ensuring that the tournament requirements in terms of public transport, traffic management and airport management are met by the relevant authorities
• Leading, coaching and supporting the Polish and Ukrainian LOCs in all areas related to public transport and airport management.

EDUCATION:
• University degree in business management
• Public transport specific degree
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Extensive experience of operational public transport management in large-scale (sports) events
• Experience in a football and/or sports environment
• Experience in airport management
• Experience in dealing with authorities
• Experience in complex projects
BUSINESS KNOW-HOW & IT-SKILLS:
• MS Office (Project, Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of technical requirements of major events
