Job Title: Vice President Information Technology & Facilities Management

Position Summary:
SOI’s Vice President for Information Technology and Facilities Management, reporting to and in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for managing the information resources of the organization and providing a range of business services to SOI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
This position oversees the Information Technology and Facilities Departments. This position will direct computing and information technology, as well as develop plans, policies, and applications for business and financial data processing. This position is responsible for computer services, network communications, and managing information services to support corporate goals. This position is also responsible for the oversight and budget of facilities operations ensuring a safe, functional, and productive work environment.
This position must have a thorough understanding of the company’s goals and business processes and the ability to apply knowledge of available technologies, where appropriate, to increase efficiencies.
This position will act as a liaison for the Information Technology Department and internal business units as well as outside stakeholders. The incumbent will lead multiple projects and oversee technology projects through all stages of planning, development, testing and deployment; ensuring requirements are met as well as compliance with industry best practices. The incumbent will also have responsibility for ensuring that SOI’s systems and infrastructure are maintained properly, perform appropriately, and are stable at all times. This position is also responsible for ensuring that clear and concise communication exists between the information technology department and its stakeholders ensuring that projects, as well as day to day operations, take place in a seamless manner.
The position requires excellent communication skills, demonstrated creativity, and good judgment.
IT Responsibilities
• Implementing SOI’s IT Strategic Plan;
• Developing, updating and maintaining SOI’s enterprise information architecture;
• Planning and budgeting for systems acquisition, implementation and maintenance;
• Contracting with network, applications, telephone, internet and other IT infrastructure suppliers to provide SOI with needed products and services;
• Developing and maintaining appropriate information security policies and procedures and ensuring compliance throughout the organization;
• Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company;
Facilities Responsibilities:
• Ensure a safe office environment;
• Review and approve major contracts for SOI’s facilities, services, and equipment;
• Establish and implement short and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures;
• Set priorities and allocate resources to provide a productive work environment;
• Develop and establish operating policies SOI facilities;
• Identify and establish shared services that can benefit the entire organization;
• Responsible for the creation and oversight of the facilities budget
• Supervises a Director of Business Services, a networking and infrastructure specialist, an applications specialist and a client service coordinator responsible for Help Desk operations and training;
Qualifications:
• Advanced degree and or high level IT management experience;
• At least 15 years professional experience;
• Proven ability to manage large workloads and organize work efficiently;
• Excellent project management and communications skills;
• A high degree of technical knowledge and professional judgment;
