Purpose of the job
Co-ordinate the successful implementation of public transport management and signage together with the relevant authorities of the host countries and host cities.
The Public Transport Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, adaption & operation of the Public Transport Concept. He/she will closely cooperate with the Venue Management and Event Transport.
Main activities
• defines needs of UEFA EURO 2012 in terms of public transport, traffic management and related signage
• establishes public transport, traffic management and traffic signage concept from the organiser’s perspective
• coordinates on an operational level the implementation and successful running of the public transport, traffic management, signage and park and ride with all relevant parties in close collaboration with Venue Management and Event Transportation
• represents Euro 2012 Polska needs and requirements in all related discussions on the Host City, Country and region level with regard to Public Transportation and Traffic Management
• coordinates public transport operations, implements the project, manages and controls the areas concerned using up-to-date reporting tools during the Tournament
• interacts with external authorities within the Host Cities
• establishes information system towards dependent projects groups and clients
• monitors in cooperation with UEFA responsibles and Event Transport Manager the implementation of Transport Tracker system in Host Cities
Main responsibilities
• provides consultancy and service to the involved parties
• ensures, within the function capabilities, that HCs Public Transport authorities deliver the required Transport Service
• defines needs, analyses exisiting public offer, works out gaps, develops various ideas on the best implementation of Transport System from the organiser’s perspective
• discusses and ensures the fullfillment of the Event Organiser’s needs in conjunction with all relevant internal and external bodies and responsibles
• responsible to spend money economically and respect the budgets
Education
• degree in business administration
• public transport specific education
Work Experience
• at least 5 years experience of public transport operational management
• experience in dealing with authorities
• several involvments as transport coordinations for big events
• logistics experience in a managerial position
Business know-how and IT Skills
• computer-literate: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
• strong organisational skills; knowledge in budget and project management
• planning & process management skills
• able to develop information, reporting and control tools
• sense of initiative and able to work independently & strong sense of duty
• able to keep calm under pressure, in tense situations, and to cope with stress during hectic periods
• able to multi-task; flexible, hard working and dedicated
Language skills
• English – fluent spoken and written, Russian – a strong advantage
