Purpose of the job
Event Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing the planning and preparation for all logistics activities for a number of venues. He/she will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of a system for the identification, receipt, storage, recovery and disposal of all types of materials required to carry out the Tournament. The goal is to serve the Teams and Workforce at defined levels of service (minimum waiting time, clear & timely information, efficient service) within reasonable costs.
Main activities
• To establish necessary policies and procedures and instructions for Workforce
• To manage all logistics activities: domestic
• To ensure that logistics services are provided to the Teams during the event period
• To participate in the selection of suppliers and overall ordering Process on Venue Equipment
• To manage the process and schedules of installation, transition and dismantling of Venue Equipment
• To manage all warehousing needs
• To organise quality and quantity check at the reception of deliveries
• To oversee and plan onsite logistics deliveries during the preparation phase, Tournament and dismantling phase
• To assure smooth running of the offices and meeting rooms in the stadium
• To implement the Petty cash funds Process
• To liaise and collaborate on activities outsourced to UEFA Events SA within his/her area (logistics, Legal)
Profile
• University degree (ideally transport, logistic)
• Significant experience in practical operational logistics work – min 5 years; preferably in major event logistics, venue logistics or international shippingUnderstanding of the venue operating requirements as well as logistics implications
• Knowledge of such terms as space arrangements, resource requirements, mechanical handling equipment A good understanding of Global Logistics and freight forwarding & managing large logistics operations
• Experience in working on Ukrainian/Polish market – min 3 years Experience in selecting and managing contractors/suppliers to deliver outsourced work
• Managing of a team of at lest 5 people Experience in import and export between EU and not EU countries (for import/export experience)
• Experience in logistics within (international) sport events is a strong plus Experience of working within a fast moving and pressurised environment
• computer-literate: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
