Profile
Experience: 5-7 years proven experience as qualified commercial lawyer
Education: law school/postgraduate professional qualification, legal practising certificate
Languages: English mother tongue or perfectly fluent, French/German an asset
Purpose of the job
Provision of all necessary legal support for UEFA’s marketing and related activities, focussed primarily on sponsorship, licensing and all other non-media rights commercial activities.
Main activities
• Legal input and advice relating to sponsorship/commercial rights (non-media rights) and implementation
• Detailed drafting of all relevant legal documentation (including: sponsorship, licensing, agency, consultancy, supply agreements and other general commercial contracts, tender documentation etc., intellectual property assignments and licences)
• Negotiation of all of the above contracts in conjunction with UEFA Events S.A. Marketing counterparts
• Providing legal support for the account management and rights delivery functions of UEFA Events S.A. Marketing
• Protection of UEFA’s larger/overall interests from a business affairs perspective
• Supervision of junior lawyers within Marketing Legal Services unit
Main responsibilities
• Manage and undertaking on a day to day basis, the legal work required to support UEFA Events S.A. Marketing division primarily in respect of sponsorship and licensing across all of UEFA’s competitions
• Co-operation and communication with other MLS Legal Counsel and other Legal Affairs units to ensure co-ordination and consistency of commercial programmes and projects
• Reporting to the Head of Marketing Legal Services
Decision-making powers
• Legal aspects of commercial strategy and contracts
• Signature approval of contracts.
