Company Description
The International Olympic Committee was founded on 23 June 1894 by the French educator Baron Pierre de Coubertin who was inspired to revive the Olympic Games of Greek antiquity. The IOC is an international non-governmental non-profit organisation and the creator of the Olympic Movement.

The IOC exists to serve as an umbrella organisation of the Olympic Movement. It owns all rights to the Olympic symbols, flag, motto, anthem and Olympic Games. Its primary responsibility is to supervise the organisation of the summer and winter Olympic Games.

Missions of Partner Servicing

The mission of Partner Servicing is to help maintain the revenue stream from IOC partners by overseeing and ensuring the delivery of the rights and benefits granted to the IOC’s commercial partners, including TOP Partners and IOC suppliers.

This is accomplished by (1) building strong relationships with and integrating closely with other IOC departments, Olympic Organizing Committees (OCOGs), National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and all other Olympic parties, and (2) providing education, support and oversight to ensure Partner rights and benefits are delivered.

The Partner Service team has a responsibility to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of the IOC Partners as well as to protect and enhance the value of their investment, with the ultimate goal of long-term retention.


Main responsibilities and key tasks

• Establish, protect, enhance and nurture the relationships with assigned stakeholders (specific TOP Partners, IOC suppliers, etc.) to build and maintain open, productive and mutually beneficial partnerships.

• Through cross-functional teams and relationships, oversee and ensure the delivery of the diverse rights packages sold to assigned TOP Partners including: games assets, marketing rights, sponsor recognition, product supply, etc.

• Initiate and develop a creative approach to account management with the aim of adding incremental value to the assigned TOP Partner, which includes:

• Understanding the assigned TOP Partner key Olympic sponsorship objectives and provide appropriate service to help such sponsor(s) develop relevant and targeted marketing programs in-line with their objectives.
• Informing assigned TOP Partner(s) of new activation opportunities within the Olympic Movement.
• Assisting in the development of creating additional assets to assist in the delivery of a return on objectives as set out by TOP Partners.

• Oversee and manage Olympic activation and promotional campaign approvals of assigned TOP Partner(s). This will require an intimate knowledge of all approvals and the participation in all approval activities.

• Provide day-to-day assistance and issue resolution as challenges impact assigned TOP Partner(s).

• Provide Olympic marketing expertise, communications, tools and information to assigned marketing partners so that they can effectively leverage their Olympic partnership.

• Educate, train and provide knowledge transfer in order for OCOGs to correctly service local marketing partners while also educating OCOG representatives in the servicing of the specific needs of TOP Partners assigned to the account manager.

• Liaise and problem-solve as necessary with all IOC departments to ensure TOP rights and benefits are understood, respected and fulfilled.

• Participate in the development of TOP Partner research and benchmarking process of other sports properties to improve the services delivered to assigned TOP Partners (with respect to hospitality, rights activation, presence marketing, etc.).

• Serve as an advocate on behalf of assigned Partner(s) within IOC Departments and Commissions.

• Serve as an advocate on behalf of assigned Partner(s) with NOCs and OCOGs.

• Initiate regular reviews of overall service deliver and returns on objectives.

• Serve as a facilitator with IOC, OCOGs, host city governments and NOCs in support of Partner(s) Olympic marketing objectives.

• Be an active supporter and contributor to sponsor activation efforts around the world.

• Provide Games-time support for all Partner(s) on-site activation activities.


Training, skills and experience

Every staff member is responsible for keeping his or her competences up to date.

• University degree with a major (or focus) in marketing

• 6-8 years marketing program development and/or client-based sponsorship management experience in a corporate/agency environment

• A minimum of 3-5 Olympic Games activation experience (working either sponsor, property and/or agency side)

• Computer skills in standard business tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

• Excellent relationship skills

• Background showing outstanding project management skills

• Crisis management skills

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment

Language Skills

• English (fluent)
