 EMCOR partners with QNOC

EMCOR, Facilities Services signed a four-year partnership contract with QNOC on Tuesday, 1 May 2007 at the headquarters.

The contract was signed by HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Secretary General of QNOC and Scott Wilson, Managing Director of EMCOR.

According to the contract the USA and UK based, EMCOR, will endow with a complete Control Management System (CMS) which will be implemented in three phases starting from, 1 June 2007.

Apart from the facilities in QNOC, EMCOR will also endeavour maintenance and operations of, Al Sadd SC, Qatar SC, Al Rayyan SC, Al Gharafa SC and Al Arabi SC.

Sheikh Saoud highlighted some of the significance of the contract, "I want to congratulate and thank EMCOR for this milestone which was decided in the past eight months, the opening they acquired after in-depth study and be chosen from the three companies who had put down their proposals and analysis.

"QNOC as a team will work with EMCOR, to keep intact all the facilities and amenities in a proper shape to use them in future events.

"I would like to appreciate QNOC's IT and Finance departments in evaluating and scrutinizing the deal with EMCOR," said Sheikh Saoud.

EMCOR MD, thanked QNOC in processing the project and ensured the commitment and trust.

"On behalf of EMCOR, I would like to thank QNOC in processing the project, I would also ensure them of our commitment, we agree with Sheikh Saoud who mentioned about working as a team in implementing the project and will deliver the right solution," said Wilson.

When asked about the sub-contractors who are already working with QNOC Sheikh Saoud said, "We at the moment are evaluating the jobs and contract of the four sub-contractors in QNOC and then decide upon the extension of their contracts, after the research we will choose some local contractors for all the sports venues".

Rauf Shadid, Consultant of Projacs International, explained about the three phases, "In the first phase starting from June, the company will audit the system and upgrade as per the international standards, while in the second, operation and maintenance will be carried out and in the last phase an integration of all facilities will be conceded from the main control room located at QNOC," said Shadid.
