CO-RIO announces Samsung sponsorship for the Pan American Torch Relay

The Organizing Committee of the Pan American Games Rio 2007 (CO-RIO) and Samsung signed a sponsorship contract for the Pan American Torch Relay. The Korean company is already a partner to the Rio 2007 Games, and now it extends its participation in the year?s largest sports event. Now, Samsung has the right to associate its brand to the Torch Relay across the cities that will represent the 42 countries participating in the Games.
CO-RIO Marketing Director Leonardo Gryner highlighted Samsung?s commitment to Rio 2007. ?The company, which is already a partner, reaffirms its commitment with Games staging. The Relay is an opportunity to have all Brazil participate in the Games,? he said. The contract also grants Samsung the option to select some bearers to carry the Torch.
