Mr Camenzuli announced his resignation at the 70th Anniversary AIPS Congress in Bregenz, Austria. Mr Esat Yilmaer of the Hurriyet Daily, Turkey, will take over the position of General Secretary until the next congress in Beijing in May, 2008. The office of General Secretary will then be voted for in Beijing. The incumbent will then remain in the role for a twelve month period until the 2009 Congress.
