Rugby World Cup 2007 Observer Programme launched

Rugby World Cup 2007 is opening its doors to event organisers and governing bodies through running an official Observer Programme.
Rugby World Cup Limited (RWCL) and the France 2007 Organising Committee will conduct a three-day programme, the first of its kind for a major Rugby event. The programme will involve a number of behind the scenes seminars and presentations by Tournament officials in addition to venue tours of the operational side of Rugby World Cup 2007.
“Rugby World Cup 2007 in France promises to be a colourful and spectacular Tournament. The teams and record numbers of travelling supporters can look forward to world class venues and excellent tournament organisation. In fact the IRB is confident that this, the sixth Rugby World Cup, will be the most successful in the Tournament’s 20 year history,” said the Head of the Rugby World Cup Department, Kit McConnell.

“Rugby World Cup is now firmly established as a major event on the global sporting calendar and is the largest sporting event in the world this year. We are therefore delighted to share our expertise and experience with other event organisers and sporting bodies. It promises to be a very informative three day programme,” added Mr McConnell.
The Observer Programme comprises special event management seminars run by Rugby World Cup officials on areas such as team services, volunteers, ticketing, communications, administration and finance, spectator services and venue operations.
