Sochi 2014 Gets Support From China

Interfax reports that Feng Jianzhong, deputy director of the Chinese State General Administration of Sport, says China supports Sochi’s bid for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
He told a press conference Wednesday, “we would like to wish Sochi good luck. Sochi has many advantages. The Russian team had good results at the Turin Olympics and this will bring support to the Sochi bid. Russia has great experience in hosting large international sporting competitions”, he said.
He added that Sochi has made significant progress in building infrastructure, and the hosting of the Olympics is supported all across Russia.
“In 2001 the International Olympic Committee held a session in Moscow and elected Beijing as host city for 2008 Summer Olympics, which was largely due to the help and support from our Russian friends”.
