The Sports Recruitment Company has been retained by Badminton England, the national governing body for the sport in England, to find its new Head of Development following Sue Sutton’s departure to be Chief Executive at ISPAL (Institute for Sport, Parks and Leisure).
“The Head of Development role is a crucial position within our organisation and will take responsibility for key areas of development including partnership expansion, long term strategy and the planning and implementation of our new ‘100 Point Plan’.” said Adrian Christy, Chief Executive of Badminton England.
Leigh Hine, Head of Public Sport at The Sports Recruitment Company said, “We are delighted to be asked to recruit this role for Badminton England. The landscape within sport in the UK is changing fast and there is increasing competition for the best available talent at all levels. To be successful in this role, candidates should have experience of managing sports projects within the education or commercial sectors, be a natural leader, as well as have experience in working with stakeholders at all levels.”
Hine commented, “The reputation and profile of the clients we work with highlight the skills shortage within the public sports sector. The traditional route of sector referrals and advertising are not yielding the responses they once did and our in-depth industry knowledge and expertise are becoming key to their successful recruitment.” The position with Badminton England is another high profile role for the public sports division which has recently worked with clients including the Amateur Swimming Association, the British Paralympic Association and the Youth Sport Trust for their specialist recruitment.
Candidates interested in this position are asked to speak to Leigh Hine, Head of Public Sport at The Sports Recruitment Company who can be reached on +44 (0) 207 420 7809 or at LH@sportsrecruitment.co.uk. The closing date for applications is Monday 16 July 2007 at 5pm. All direct and third party applications will be forwarded to The Sports Recruitment Company.
