FIVB to speed up its renovation

New staff has been hired to manage key areas in the FIVB office in Lausanne. Seppo Innanen comes from Finland as Chief Operating Officer, Piero Rebaudengo from Italy will take over the FIVB Volleyball Events Department, the Italian journalist Fabrizio Rossini is the new Press Officer. The President of the FIVB Dr. Rubén Acosta H. looks at the future of the International Volleyball Federation: “We decided during the 30th World Congress, held in Tokyo in 2006, to speed up the renovation of the FIVB. Young people have now accepted to join FIVB activities and contribute with fresh ideas to implement the World Vision 2012 under a new dimension.”
Piero Rebaudengo, Volleyball Olympic medallist with the Italian team in the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games, has been setting the ball in about 200 matches for the “Azzurri”. He has also played 12 “Serie A” championships in the Italian League before 1987. He’s worked then 10 years as sales and marketing manager in the pharmacy industry. Mr. Rebaudengo brings to the FIVB a long experience in management of sports events, including his recent participation in the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino as Managing Director of the Paralympics. He takes over the FIVB Volleyball Events Department, aiming to upgrade the main FIVB Events to become unique top sports show worldwide.
Seppo Innanen, from Finland, organised the World League in Finland and later for several years was the FIVB Sports Events Director. He went back to Finland to be part of the Ski World Championships organisation, and then he joined a major enterprise in Helsinki. He has been Civic Activities Director of the world famous charity programme “Save the Children”. Mr. Innanen will be in charge of the Operation of the FIVB Secretariat as Chief Operating Officer (COO): he will coordinate and supervise all FIVB activities directly under the FIVB President, enthusiastic about the big challenge of being involved again in the international federation with two Olympic disciplines.
Fabrizio Rossini joins the organisation of the FIVB to conduct the Press Department. The new Press Officer arrives in Lausanne with his long experience as a Volleyball journalist for several national and international media. Former chief editor for nine years of the monthly “Supervolley” and founder of the new magazine “Pallavolo Supervolley”, then Press Director and TV Producer during some international Volleyball events, he has been working for the last three years as Communication and Development Manager of the famous Italian League.
