Canon Europe will be a Global Event Sponsor at UEFA EURO 2008™ in Austria and Switzerland next year.
Solutions showcase
Canon, said UEFA in unveiling the deal on Wednesday, "will showcase its latest business solutions technology in a selection of media centres at the final tournament. Canon will also provide camera and lens maintenance service and loan depots at media centres inside the stadiums for professional photographers."
Official partners
The list of ten blue-chip official partners with worldwide rights for UEFA EURO 2008™ is as follows: adidas, Canon, Carlsberg, Castrol, Coca-Cola, Continental, JVC, Hyundai-Kia, MasterCard, McDonald's.
Long history
"Canon has a long history of partnership with football and in particular with the UEFA European Football Championship," said UEFA General Secretary David Taylor. Global rights
UEFA EURO 2008™ has four official Event Sponsors with global rights to UEFA EURO 2008™. The four Event Sponsors will join the existing six UEFA EUROTOP partners who, as well as global rights to UEFA EURO 2008™, also support UEFA's other professional national-team competitions - the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, UEFA European Futsal Championship and UEFA European Women's Championship.
Final round
The 2008 final round takes place from 7 to 29 June 2008, and will be staged in eight cities - Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Vienna (Austria), and Basle, Berne, Geneva and Zurich (Switzerland).
