NHL Centre Ice package back on in Canada

The National Hockey League (NHL) and ExpressVu Digital TV from Bell today announced that they have renewed their agreement for Bell ExpressVu to distribute the out-of-market NHL Centre Ice subscription package for the next four years through the 2010-11 NHL season.
With NHL Centre Ice on Bell ExpressVu, subscribers can access over 1,000 NHL games from outside their local viewing area, with up to 40 key regular-season games per week. A number of games each week are provided in high definition. NHL Centre Ice will be available once again on Bell ExpressVu's DTH PPV satellite TV service across Canada at the beginning of the 2007-08 season.
In addition to the NHL stats channel that has been available in previous years, Bell ExpressVu now also will offer an interactive mosaic channel. This channel will feature windows with six different feeds of NHL games. Subscribers can then scroll to the window of the game they would like to watch and hit “select” to begin watching that channel in full-screen.
“We have had great success in the past by offering our NHL Centre Ice subscription service through Bell ExpressVu and are pleased to be able to continue to do so," said Jody Shapiro, Group Vice President, Television and Media Ventures for the NHL. "NHL Centre Ice remains the ultimate viewing experience for hockey fans who don’t want to miss a minute of the action.”
Packages this season will once again include an Early Bird, Regular Season, Half Season and Race to the Stanley Cup version. Pricing for these packages has yet to be determined.
