Positive Beijing 2008 Evaluation From IOC

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and other organizations have given the Good Luck Beijing sport events ahead of the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games, a positive evaluation.
Executive Director Gilbert Felli gave a briefing on the inspection results and provided suggestions to Beijing 2008 officials regarding the sport events.
According to Beijing 2008 the IOC and Chefs de Mission of various countries and regions said the excellent work in the venue construction, transport organization, security, and services for athletes, the media, and volunteer services, has laid a solid foundation for the success of the 2008 Olympic Games.
BOCOG President Liu Qi said at the meeting that the 2007 Good Luck Beijing sport events are in full swing. With the efforts of all parties and the guidance of the IOC, the events are going on smoothly, he said.
The events this year are being held to test the functions of hardware facilities, technical systems, venue teams’ working schemes, command system and urban operations.
Meanwhile, Atos Origin, the Worldwide IT Partner and an Official Top Partner of the IOC, announced Tuesday that preparations for the IT Systems for Beijing 2008 are right on schedule and intensive testing of the IT System has started.
Yang Yichun, Director of BOCOG Technology said, “with less than one year to go before the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games we are pleased to see the IT systems for the Games are moving forward on schedule and solid progress has been made”.
The project is now moving into the test phase, the fourth of five phases, which covers plan, design, build, test and operate. This month Atos Origin has been testing its systems, infrastructure and operational processes in a live competition environment for 12 sports at 11 venues as part of the Good Luck Beijing test events.
