China to host World Cup for next 12 years

Golf's World Cup received a long-term commitment from China on Thursday with the announcement that Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen will host the event for the next 12 years.
The European Tour, its organisers, also announced that the number of participating nations will be increased by four to 28.
Eighteen seeded countries will participate in the World Cup finals from November 22-25 this year with another 10 coming through qualification in Aruba in the Caribbean and in Kuala Lumpur.
Although the World Cup, won last year by Bernhard Langer and Marcel Siem of Germany, has ceased to be a world golf championship event, the prize money has gone up by $2 million (988,270 pounds) to $5 million.
Mission Hills GC hosted the 1995 World Cup, won by the United States, the most successful nation in the tournament since it began in 1953.
