Continental Airlines Thursday announced a multi-year marketing agreement with the New York Giants signing on as the team's "official airline." The agreement includes cooperative advertising and joint marketing fan promotions and corporate hospitality opportunities through 2010.
"Continental is proud to contribute to the Giants storied football tradition," said Mark Bergsrud, Continental's senior vice president marketing and distribution. "Like Continental, the Giants are committed to team excellence both on the field and in their community."
"Continental's leadership position in our region made them a natural choice for us as a partner, plus our research clearly showed that Giants' fans have a strong preference for Continental over other carriers," said Mike Stevens, New York Giants senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "We also admire Continental's commitment to the communities that they serve, a philosophy that we share. We believe that Continental will be a great partner and benefit our fans with their innovative programs and services."
Throughout each season, fans will have an opportunity to bid on once-in-a-lifetime New York Giants experiences through the OnePass Online Auction at continental.com, including a trip to London for two people to watch the Giants game live at Wembley Stadium, a personal tailgate party hosted by Giants alumni, fantasy football clinics and a road trip for two to watch the Giants take on Chicago.
The Giants sponsorship is another example of Continental's ongoing commitment to the communities it serves. In the New York area, Continental is also the official airline of the U.S. Open, New York Yankees, New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New Jersey Nets and the New York City Marathon. The airline is also the official carrier of Live Broadway, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
