ISAF is now accepting bids to host the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships from 2011 onwards.
The ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship is ISAF’s longest running event, having taken place every year since the first Youth Worlds hosted by Sweden in 1971. The 2007 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship, the eighth Youth Worlds to be sponsored by Volvo, took place from 12-21 July, sailed out of the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Next year the Youth Worlds heads to Denmark, followed by Brazil in 2009, whilst Turkey will host the 40th edition of the ISAF Youth Worlds in 2010.
In advance of the 2007 ISAF Annual Conference, ISAF is accepting bids to host the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships from 2011 onwards.
All ISAF Member National Authorities (MNAs) are invited to bid for this pinnacle youth event. MNAs interested in bidding should contact the ISAF Secretariat to receive the bid manual.
Deadline for bids is 12 October 2007. Bids will be reviewed by the ISAF Youth World Championship Sub-Committee during its meeting at the 2007 ISAF Annual Conference in November.
