2008 Austria TV deal with ORF

UEFA and ORF have signed an agreement for the radio and television broadcast of UEFA EURO 2008™ in one of the host countries, Austria.
Live coverage
ORF will provide live coverage of all 31 UEFA EURO 2008™ matches on its primary free-to-air channel ORF1. The agreement also gives ORF radio stations non-exclusive broadcast rights. Furthermore, under the partnership between UEFA and ORF, ORF television and radio stations will show extensive coverage of the run-up to UEFA EURO 2008™.
'Good news'
"The conclusion of the agreement between UEFA and the ORF is very good news for Austria and Austrian football fans," said UEFA General Secretary David Taylor. "Through the national broadcast platform that ORF will provide, we are convinced that the UEFA EURO 2008™ tournament will be promoted as a very special event to the Austrian public. We are all looking forward to a fantastic football tournament."
Market-by-market basis
The broadcast rights to the UEFA European Football Championship are being sold on a market-by-market basis for the first time in the 46-year history of the tournament. SPORTFIVE is UEFA's exclusive sales agent for the exploitation of European broadcast rights relating to UEFA EURO 2008™.
June 2008
UEFA EURO 2008™ takes place in Austria and Switzerland between 7 and 29 June next year. The tournament is being staged in eight cities – Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Vienna (Austria), and Basle, Berne, Geneva and Zurich (Switzerland).
