UNIT: Commercial Legal Services

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Provision of the necessary legal support for UEFA's commercial and related activities.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
• Legal input and advice relating to media and sponsorship/commercial rights, strategy and implementation
• Drafting of legal documentation (including tenders, media rights agreement, sponsorship agreements, licensing agreements, consultancy and agency agreements, technical supply/supplier agreements etc)
• Negotiation of all commercial, supplier and technical contracts in conjunction with Commercial, Marketing and UMET counterparts
• Provide legal support for the account management functions of the Commercial and Marketing divisions
• Report to the other lawyers in the team
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage on a day to day basis the legal involvement with the different commercial business divisions of UEFA and UMET
• Manage on a day to day basis, the legal support provided by UEFA's commercial agents/agencies
DECISION-MAKING POWERS:
• Legal aspects of commercial strategy and contracts
• Signature approval of contracts
EDUCATION:
• Law degree (or equivalent)
• Law school/post-graduate professional qualification (or equivalent)
• Legal practising certificate (or equivalent)
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• A qualified practicing lawyer with experience (2-4 years post qualification) in relevant commercial / intellectual property environment, preferably in a sport environment
BUSINESS KNOW-HOW & IT-SKILLS:
• Excellent drafting skills in English
• Understanding of media and technology in general and how it is used in practice
• IT literate
