A row has broken out over the television rights to the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup play-off with France.
Broadcasters RTE and Sky Sports are locked in discussions with the French Football Federation and their TV partners TF1 over the second leg in Paris next week.
But as yet they have not been able to strike a deal, leaving millions of Irish fans facing a TV blackout.
Reports in Ireland have suggested that the FFF is asking for Euros 1.5m for the rights after the Football Association of Ireland handed the home leg to the highest bidder, the independent channel M6, for about Euros 4.5m.
