The Czech Republic is the latest country to put itself forward to host a grand prix.
Officials want to stage a round of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters series on a 2.5-mile street circuit in Prague before making a bid for a grand prix.
Circuit promoter Tony Charouz has revealed that work is expected to begin on the track next year and that planning is “90 per cent complete”.
He told Autosport: “F1 is the ambition. If we put on a good show with the DTM, then maybe we can have a grand prix, but we’ve got nothing on paper yet.
“This track will be very central in a city of 1.5 million people. This type of track is the future of motor racing.”
