London 2012 is talking to advertising and marketing agencies about a brief to promote the positive legacy the Olympic Games will have on this country.
Trade magazine Campaign reports that the pitch, which is described as “much more than an advertising brief”, is being handled by the Nations and Regions Group, a collection of representatives from UK businesses and sporting networks that was set up to guarantee that the entire nation benefits from London staging the Games.
The successful agency will be tasked with communicating the positive impact the Olympics will have at grassroots level, while also countering any bad press on issues such as the soaring cost of the Games.
The work will be separate from the main advertising for 2012, which McCann WorldGroup was appointed to handle in the summer.
