Spa Francorchamps has been issued a new licence, allaying fears over the future of the Belgian Grand Prix.
The historic circuit had its original licence revoked recently following complaints from local residents about noise.
But according to reports, Philippe Henry, the planning minister of the Wallonia government, granted the track a new licence this week.
Under the terms of the new agreement, there must be at least two weekends in the summer months when there will be no racing at all at the circuit. A committee has been set up to make sure that there is adequate communication between the regional government and the local community.
In addition, an independent company has been charged with monitoring the noise produced by the circuit and its findings will determine whether or not Spa will be granted a permit beyond March 2011.
