French court rejects N.Technology claims 26/11/2009 |

The FIA has defended the way the new teams for the 2010 Formula One season were chosen after a French court threw out N.Technology’s legal action against motorsport’s governing body.
The Italian entry, whose UK parent MSC filed the legal action, claimed the team selection process was “highly questionable”, and a court hearing took place last month in Paris’ Tribunal de Grande Instance
But the court rejected the claims and the FIA said in a statement: “The Tribunal de Grande Instance in Paris has upheld the FIA’s selection procedure for new teams in the 2010 FIA Formula 1 World Championship and rejected a legal action filed by UK company MSC, one of the unsuccessful candidates.
“The court rejected all points raised by MSC and ordered the company to pay the FIA’s legal costs.
“MSC was one of 15 new organisations to submit an application to compete in the championship in 2010.
“The FIA’s selection procedure involved a thorough due diligence process on all applications with the assistance of financial auditors Deloitte & Touche and other technical experts.”
