National Ice Skating Association chief executive Keith Horton fears that the cost of hosting the 2012 Olympics in London will affect the funding given to winter sports.
The various governing bodies of winter sports have come together to formally raise their concerns with the British Olympic Association and UK Sport.
Horton said: “The Summer Olympics in London has certainly taken attention away from us.
“Who knows what’s going to happen after the event but there will sure as heck be a lot of bills to pay. So it’s not just now, but post-2012 as well, which we are concerned about.”
