Paddy Power has taken a dig at Thierry’s Henry recent handball in the World Cup qualifier against Ireland in a new advertising campaign.
The Irish bookmaker will run the poster ad in the arrivals hall at Dublin Airport for the next two weeks. It says: “Paddy Power welcomes you to Ireland... unless you’re called Thierry.”
The campaign takes a tongue-in-cheek shot at the France striker after his controversial handball in the build up to the goal that ruined Ireland’s World Cup dreams.
Paddy Power said: “We’re a nation still reeling from last week’s controversial result in Paris so it’s refreshing to be able poke some fun back in Thierry’s direction.
“It’s a safe bet that he won’t be travelling through Dublin Airport anytime soon but if he does, our adverts will be waiting.”
