Moët Hennessy has extended the sponsorship of its eponymous Gold Cup at Newbury for at least another three years.
The brand has backed the race, which is the highlight of the three-day winter festival at the Berkshire racecourse, for more than 50 years – making it the longest association in sports sponsorship history.
And following the success of the latest Hennessy Gold Cup at the weekend, the company has decided to extend the deal.
Managing Director of Moët Hennessy UK Graham Boyes said: “This is the longest-running sports partnership of its kind and we are thrilled to continue working with Newbury on one of our, and the UK’s, most prestigious and cherished events.”
Stephen Higgins, joint managing director of Newbury, added: “We are extremely proud of our longstanding relationship with Moët Hennessy and are thrilled that the relationship will continue until at least 2012.”
The 2010 Hennessy Gold Cup will take place on Saturday November 27 at Newbury.
