The FIA has confirmed that Sauber will replace Toyota on the Formula 1 grid for next season.
The team applied for the 13th and final slot after BMW’s decision to sell its F1 operation back to Peter Sauber.
Toyota announced in November that it was quitting the sport – the third manufacturer to do so in the last year after BMW and Honda.
Meanwhile, Renault’s future in F1 is still in doubt amid reports that it is considering selling its team to Prodrive.
A Prodrive spokesman told Reuters: “We cannot comment on the Renault situation but it is well known that our intention is to get into F1.”
