The FIA has switched next year’s Formula 1 calendar so that Abu Dhabi, rather than Brazil, will host the final grand prix of the season.
The Brazilian GP at Interlagos was the last race of 2010 in the provisional list released last week, but organisers of the Abu Dhabi event also wanted the slot and said that they hoped the schedule could be changed.
The FIA World Council has decided that the Brazilian GP will now take place on November 7, with the Abu Dhabi race a week later on November 14, to avoid a clash with Brazil’s presidential elections.
